I consider myself a native of Tallinn – born in 1974 and raised in Tallinn. After graduating from secondary school and completing my compulsory service as a conscript in the Defence Forces, I began my studies in social work at Tallinn Pedagogical University. One might think that due to a childhood filled with adventure (with my turbulent puberty falling during the period of regime change), I have always been interested in risky behaviour and crisis psychology. As a result, I was the head of the social work department at Maardu juvenile prison and volunteered at the Tallinn Crisis Help Centre. When creating Estonia’s probation supervision system, I began working as the head of the Probation Supervision Department of the Tallinn City Court a position I held until 2003.
As I came into contact with the problem of risk behaviour on a daily basis, I grew increasingly interested in the legal background of the situation, which led to the commencement of my studies at the Faculty of Law. In 2003, I moved from the public sector to work in the private sector, working as a lawyer in various law firms. As an aside – my first work-related experience with the law came with toy stores, i.e. I was a part-time lawyer at a toy importing company.
In 2011, I completed my Master’s studies at the Tallinn University School of Governance, Law and Society. I passed the Bar exam in 2012 (member of the Estonian Bar Association since 30 October 2012) and in the same year I started working at Law Firm Ahas & Heringson GLO.
I passed the attorney-at-law examination in 2018, which also gave me the professional title of attorney-at-law. Since the establishment of the office in 2021, I have been working at Law Office TETRIS.
At Law Office TETRIS, I have specialised in litigation involving civil matters and have represented clients in all court instances of the country, as well as in extrajudicial bodies, lease, consumer, trademark, and labour dispute committees. I have also represented clients in sports-related disputes (competition results, athlete membership).
In addition to Estonian, I communicate with clients in Russian and English.
